Is it that I work off UNIX and can use a variety of operating systems?

I work with Mac people, and I’m ok with that.

One of the offshoots of working with Mac people is, of course, receiving emails relating to Mac news. I received one such case in point today and have been pointed to an online review of the latest version of Mac OS X. I’m talking about “Tiger” which was released this past April 15th. Coincidentally, that’s also the day the frikking Titanic sunk.

“Like A Ninja” Day

Filed under: What was I thinking? — Der Tommissar @

For no reason whatsoever, if you use the phrase “Like a Ninja” in a post, you may trackback to here. I will also link your blog to the “Like a Ninja” blogroll which I will add to my site for one week.

Much Love To My Boy GK

The above is a reference, of course, to GK Chesterton. Ok, before I get to my main point, I want to point something out. I saw a newspaper article pinned up somewhere, the headline of which read (as near as I can remember) “Remembering Hunter S Thompson, the greatest humorist in the English Language of the Twentieth Century.”

If you’re going to be a reporter, shouldn’t you like…take a Lit. class or something in college? I mean, even one of those classes you can order off a matchbox cover would be a help here.

Let’s review:

  • Unborn babies are parasites. You know, they’re like ringworm.
  • Expecting mothers are “hosts”.
  • Pregnancy basically plays out like that movie “Alien“.
  • Four legs good, two legs bad.
  • Nice.

    A Question..

Filed under: Catholic — Der Tommissar @

I just read somewhere that the Holy Father busted out the Papal “We” in one of his addresses. I can’t find that post now on any of the blogs I’ve visited this morning. Is it true? Can someone point me to something on it, because I’m not seeing any references to this.

    HABEMUS PAPAM!

    Pope Benedict XVI

So I was wrong, very wrong. In my defense, I did say it would have to be a quick Conclave for Cardinal Ratzinger Pope Benedict XVI to be elected. It was a quick Conclave.

To be honest, there were a few Cardinals I had hoped for other than Cardinal Ratzinger Pope Benedict XVI, but I’m overjoyed nonetheless.

    Black Smoke

Each time you see a variation of the picture above, the chances of a Ratzinger Papacy shrink.

    Unitatis Redentigratio

As we all know, if you’re not reading Amy Welborn, you’re not reading Catholic blogs (and I say this not only because she linked to my Papabile Special Report). There’s a very interesting discussion going on about relations with the Orthodox over there. Since I found myself going pretty deep in that discussion, I thought I should include my thoughts on the matter here. Lord knows I wouldn’t want to eat up her bandwidth in such a manner.
